6ft Christmas trees
24 trees at 6ft (180cm), from £22.99 to £335. Six feet is the standard size for a British living room: under a 2.4m ceiling it leaves room for a topper and stands at a comfortable height to decorate without steps. Eight are pre-lit, with 180 to 480 LEDs.

Why 6ft is the usual choice
Most UK homes built since the 1960s have ceilings around 2.4m. A 6ft tree with a stand and a star comes to roughly 2.1m, which fits with clearance to spare, and its spread of 100 to 130cm suits a corner or a bay without blocking a doorway. It is also the size most light sets and bauble packs are designed around.
The trees
Unlit green trees include the Ben Nevis pine with pinecones and berries, the Midnight Blue fir, the Cedar Ridge fir, the Coniferous spruce and the Grays Peak pine. Snowy versions of the Bishop pine and Grays Peak are flocked; the Grand River pine has frosted pinecones. Pre-lit trees run from the 180 LED pop-up tree to the Grampian pine with 480 LEDs. Tip counts go from 306 to 1,734, so the fullest trees here carry five times the foliage of the lightest.
Lights, baubles and clearance
For an unlit 6ft tree, 600 LEDs gives medium coverage, 300 sparse and 900 dense. Sixty to eighty baubles at 6 to 8cm, with a few 10cm pieces low down, fills the tree. Allow 15 to 30cm above the tree for the topper.
