Common questions
How do I choose a tree height?
Measure floor to ceiling and subtract 15 to 20cm for a topper and clearance. A 6ft (180cm) tree suits a standard 2.4m ceiling; a 7ft (210cm) tree needs about 2.5m. Every tree lists its height in both feet and centimetres.
What does the tip count mean?
It is the number of branch ends. At the same height, a tree with more tips looks fuller and hides the trunk better. Two 6ft trees can differ by several hundred tips, which is why we list it on every tree.
What is the difference between lit length and lead length?
Lit length is the part of the string that carries bulbs. Lead length is the plain cable from the plug or battery box to the first bulb. Both are listed on each light set so you can work out whether it will reach.
Can I use indoor lights outside?
Only if the listing says indoor and outdoor. Outdoor-rated sets have sealed bulbs and a transformer rated for damp conditions. Each light set lists its rating under Indoor or outdoor.
Are batteries included?
Usually not. Battery sets list the battery type and the number needed, and the listing says if they are included.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Not at the moment. See the delivery page.
Can I return a tree once it is out of the box?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery, as long as it is complete and repacked. See the returns page for how it works.
